Goals and Objectives

GOAL 1: Develop an environment that promotes and facilitates the growth of new projects.

Objective 1.1: Seek input from ASFPM members and associates regarding what projects need to be accomplished.

Objective 1.2: Develop a project “prospectus” to assist in promoting projects and developing outside funding sources.

GOAL 2: Develop a listing of projects that are of current need and will promote the mission of the Association.

Objective 2.1: Review and revise the existing uncompleted project descriptions to assess their timeliness and to assure they meet current needs of the Association.

Objective 2.2: Develop procedures and requirements for the submittal of applications for project funding to the Foundation.

Objective 2.3: Develop a procedure for the review of project applications for funding to assure:

• They promote the mission of the Association of State Floodplain Managers.
• They appear to meet a need of either ASFPM, its associates or those of the funding agency or organization and such project would not be counter to the mission of the Association.
• The project plan will enhance the ability of the project to be completed.
• Appropriate funding is available, either through the ASFPM Foundation or other sources.
